The Humble Indie Bundles

Hey everyone, just wanted to throw some quick indie game news at ya.

Many of you are probably familiar with The "Humble Indie Bundle" from last May.

For the uninitiated, it was a collection of indie games: Gish, Aquaria, Lugaru HD, World of Goo, and Penumbra Overture. You could name essentially any price, and receive a full, downloadable, DRM-free, (and in some cases open-source) copy of all of those games, and the money went to the Childs Play charity, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF.org), and to the developers who contributed their games for the event.

Now for the news: All of the games from the Humble Bundle event can be linked to your Steam account, with a key from an email you should have received if you contributed.

Also, there appears to be a Humble Bundle 2 in the works. You can go to this page and give your email address to be informed when this new bundle event will be starting. I encourage any of you with credit cards to give whatever you can to this event when it takes place. You get quite a lot of "bang" for whatever amount of "buck" you choose to spend, and the money goes to good causes.

So far so good with SMB

Aside from a few angry viewers who seem to have only subscribed to me for Minecraft, and are too focused on that game to enjoy anything else I post... and aside from a few Framerate problems that I have only partially resolved, Super Meat Boy seems to have been well-received, and very fun to LP so far.

The truth is, it might be quite a long time before I go back to making any Minecraft videos. I know that I haven't really done any Nether stuff in the LP, but if that's the only fresh content that I can think of recording for it, that's not enough incentive for me to even bother playing Single Player, let alone going through the hassle of recording it, editing it, rendering it, and uploading it. I'm happy with my new project at the moment.

If you're one of the people who doesn't like the new content, then don't watch it, and don't complain about it. I've recorded many games before Minecraft, and I will continue to record whichever games I please, for however long I please.. and if I'm bored with a game (like Minecraft) then I won't make videos of it just because some people think I should. The videos would not be very interesting anyway, if I'm doing something that I am not having fun doing, so I don't know why some of you are begging so much for it, when I am clearly sick and tired of it.

SMB still is not available 3 hours after it was supposed to be. If it doesn't come out soon, the LP series will not start until after my work shift tomorrow.

One more hour before Super Meat Boy PC comes out. A bit longer before I start posting videos, but expect one sometime today.

EDIT: Seems like Steam is having some momentary issues. It should be available sometime today, but right now nobody is able to download it.

I have officially pre-ordered Super Meat Boy.

New Minecraft Video

Decided to record a bit of me wandering around in a world that my Minecraft generated recently.  It's cool, because there's a dungeon completely exposed on a cliff face right near the spawn that gave me a lot of cool items to start with, and there's a lot of epic terrain located around the area as well.

Super Meat Boy

Judging by polls and comments, I will probably start making Super Meat Boy videos when the game comes out on the 30th.  I know some of you said "no", but I've had the poll up for several days now, and the spread of votes has been remaining roughly the same:

("~" in this case means 'roughly' or 'approximately')
~50% said YES!
~25% said NO!
~25% said DON'T CARE!

My interpretation of these results is that 50-75% of you are potentially interested, and the rest of you don't really like the idea at all.  I really want to do it.  I want to make at least a partial run of the game, and play it for as long as it remains interesting for me and most the audience.  So I'm gonna do it based on the votes and my own personal decision.  But the PC version still doesn't come out for about a week, so you may see a few other videos from me in the meantime.

How to comment without logging in

So, this blog makes it pretty easy to comment from many types of accounts, but if you don't feel like logging in at all, you can choose the "name/url" option from the drop-down menu on the comment form.

Then just enter a name, you can forget the URL field if you don't want to enter one, type your comment, and when you submit it, just do the word-verification spam protection thingy, and you're good to go!

Getting stuff on here from the other blog so I can get rid of it

On the tumblr (which I am deleting) I shared a video, and I had a poll, so here they are.





The video is from the guy who is making a basic computer in Minecraft



And the poll was about whether or not I should "Let's Play" Super Meat Boy when it comes out on steam at the end of November.

Okay, let's try this instead.

I wasn't really liking the whole tumblr/disqus solution, so I thought I might try this instead.  This has a built-in comment system, so please feel free to use it.

Sorry to any of you who decided to follow the tumblr, I'll probably be posting my random crap here instead.

Just a reminder to everyone, the purpose of this blog is not to move away from Youtube or anything like that.  my videos will still be posted on Youtube, because that's where all of my subscribers know to find me.  I only made this to share news about myself, other things, and as another place to let everyone know when there's a new video up on Youtube.  I'll probably be posting links to stuff that I find interesting, for those of you who have similar interests as me, and would be interested in seeing some of the stuff I stumble across.

This blog is just for fun, you're not missing out too much of the Mastatsan/Carlz0r experience if you don't follow it or subscribe to it...
